The Centre Vie Orphanage would like to express its heartfelt condolences to the Crisp Family and the congregation at the First Baptist Church in Smiths Falls, Ontario. Pastor Don Crisp won his battle with cancer on August 12, 2012 and he is now in the presence of the Lord whom he faithfully served. Pastor Don was
instrumental in encouraging and supporting our sponsorship program for the children. He was full of love and compassion for them and spoke about them on many occasions from the pulpit.
He will be dearly missed and always remembered.

Dear Centre Vie Sponsors and Donors,

I hope that you are having a wonderful summer and enjoying the beautiful sunshine! There are a few updates regarding the Centre Vie Orphanage that I'd like to share with you...

* The orphanage is in emergency mode and needs a monthly income of at least $2500 to survive. To be comfortable, $4,000 per month is needed but right now, we are taking things month by month and praying that things work out for the kids. Sponsorship contributions average $1600 per month so we are looking into new ways to generate money to make up the rest of what is needed.

* Two of our sponsors (Lisa and Kurt) recently raised approximately $2000 for the orphanage by hosting a BBQ/Yard Sale/Silent Auction. This extra money will ensure that the children are comfortable for the month of July and the first
part of August. Now we need to focus on raising funds for the new school year so that the children are able to continue their education. If you or anyone you know would like to host a fundraising event for Centre Vie, please contact me so that I can help you promote your event and be in attendance if you are within driving distance.

* Our website has been redesigned and an official logo has been created (thank you to Kait McNamara) for Centre Vie. Please check out the new site and share the link to raise awareness: centrevie.org

* Award-winning children's author Jo Ann Kairys has offered to partner with me in selling her newest book "Sunbelievable" and donating half of the proceeds to the orphanage. The book won the Mom's Choice award in the United States for 2012 and has won a plethora of other awards as well. Jo Ann has heart ties to
Haiti as her son was an emergency surgeon In Port-au-Prince right after the 2010 earthquake and her daughter-in-law was born in Haiti. If you are interested in purchasing the book (for ages 4-8), please contact me. Spreading the work also
helps a lot! The book has ties to science curriculum as it is about the sun and it contains a fact page courtesy of Jo Ann's nephew who works for NASA.

* We now have a Facebook Community page so you can find us on Facebook through our website or by searching "Centre Vie Orphanage" while on Facebook. If you go into the page and click the "Like" button, this will show your support and will help raise awareness. You can also share the link to the page on your
own profile to get more people on board. We currently have 93 people following our posts.

Thank you to all who have helped with this mission thus far. We hope and pray that you can continue to help and that you can spread awareness for 31 survivors. You are part of their survival stories.

With Gratitude,

Breanna Bedor

Award-winning children's author, Jo Ann Kairys has offered to help raise funds for the children of the Centre Vie Orphanage in St. Marc, Haiti. The orphanage is in crisis. It receives approximately $1300 per month from wonderful sponsors in Canada, but a bare minimum of $2500 per month is desperately needed to keep the doors open for 31 earthquake survivors.
Not only did the 31 children survive the massive earthquake in January 2010, but they also survived the cholera outbreak that hit Haiti in late October 2010, killing over 4000 people and hospitalizing thousands. Many of the children brought to the Centre Vie Orphanage were traumatized, malnourished and alone. In the past two years, the children have experienced healing and love, and are all healthy and happy. They have also formed very strong bonds with one another. Each child has a unique earthquake survival story and is a walking testimony to
faith and courage.
OUR GOAL IS TO RAISE $2500 by July 1, 2012.
When you purchase the award-winning children’s book, Sunbelievable, 50% of net sales will be donated to the orphanage on your behalf. The first 50 books will be autographed by the author!
U.S. residents can purchase Sunbelievable from:
http://www.storyquestbooks.com
Canadian residents can purchase the books through this website or by contacting centrevieorphanage@gmail.com
Please help keep these wonderful children safe, loved and healthy through your support. Please spread the word!

"A Change is Gonna Come"
~Chelsea Arden 2010
A change is gonna come
to help this broken world of ours
piece by stubborn piece.
We will prevail
victorious.
Let those who have nothing
be your inspiration
to push
to fight
to care.
Our world is broken, shattered
scattered across the universe.

Those dying of hunger
or praying for security
for a chance to turn 35,
together,
their piece is found
and returned to peaceful
serenity.

The ones living in fear
of a bomb or a bullet or a footstep.
Without seeing the sunshine
streaming in through the dust
as their family is led away.
They will find comfort.
Their piece is a damaged one.

What about the ones without a voice?
Who can't speak for themselves?
What about them?

Their piece is retrieved
and returned to whom it belongs:
To freedom.

The rest of the world is found
sprinkled in among the stars
and all at once
We are whole.
We are peace.
But not yet.
But don't worry; I know.
I know.
I know.
A change is gonna come.
